CAFÉ MYSTÈRE

CAFÉ MYSTÈRE ! It was a cold Sunday afternoon, I had decided to go for a walk when I stumbled upon a new cafe that just opened around the corner, CAFÉ MYSTÈRE the sign said in bold red letters, intriguing I thought to myself what a weird name for a cafe.I decided to pop in order an espresso and just sit there for some minutes. It was quite small but elegant , you know one of those places where you get a tiny cup of coffee for $10 dollars. As soon as I walked in I knew I was only ordering coffee. It had a few tables , a small couch and two counters (one by the window) I took a seat at one of the tables close to the wall. I guess the best thing about the place was that they had wifi. I took out my laptop and placed it on the table. Oh did I forget to say , I am a writer , I had been having a hard time coming up with an idea for a new book, that was why I decided to take a walk on a COLD Sunday afternoon I'm not mental. My espres

THE BLACK NOD

Black Africans in foreign countries  I was reading Americana recently and I saw something really interesting "the black nod". You know the nod u give when you see an African on the road , I do it , sometimes I even get mad when someone sees me and doesn't nod or acknowledge my nod. Why do we do this?. Really I think it gives us a sense of unity and togetherness, it's like yeah dude I see you and you could see someone a hundred times on the street and never say anything but nod or ask "how far nah"? a question which is never answered with a fine or cool or good but with the same question , the most intimate we get is the handshake with the finger snap at the end. These little things we do kind of says no matter where we came from in Africa we've got each other's backs here , and we've got to stick up for each other, it's a good sentiment but I need someone to answer my greeting.

Who am I ?????

WHO AM I ?  Me: hey how u doin  Friend: I am gud u know  Me: no I don't , haven't seen you in a while , what have you been up to.  Friend: oh, nothing , just been trying to figure out stuff.  Me: okay what stuff , I hope your fine.  Friend:. I am fine , just wanted to find myself, you know , just trying to figure out "WHO I AM".   Me:................................. "Find myself", " figure out who I really am". I don't understand these statements. This concept of figuring who you are doesn't even make sense to me, okay just one question, after you've gone on this quest , what do you find out ? Who are you?...  And one more question , what do you really do on this quest, how do you find you??????????? (I would really like some one who has done this to answer).. Why do you have to be one person, people say "I need to find out who I am and love me for me".  Is it hard to love you as many different people? Why do you

MY FIRST POST

MY FIRST POST !!!!!!! Wow ! I feel like I should be really nervous putting this up, but really I'm laying awkwardly on my bed writing this. I put the exclamation marks after "my first post" to in a way make myself feel more excited.   The idea of blogging has always been quite funny to me. I had always thought that a person would have to be reeeeaally conceited or egocentric to sit and decide to start blogging(like what do you think you know) .That thing that makes you want to just take pictures, write stuff(sometimes boring) , make videos etc, and just put them online and begin to solicit for readers ,is a thing I have not quite understood. I've always thought about what bloggers do after a post, I mean do they wait at their laptops, tablets, phones like a man whose wife is in delivery, and when you see a comment do you feel good, validated, heard ????. Anyway I guess I'll know now,lol I recently started actually paying attention to blogs and I realised they
